Data-Driven Energy Management Creates Action – Silkeborg Municipality
Customer: Silkeborg Municipality
In brief
4BC has helped establish a solid foundation for Silkeborg Municipality's energy management efforts. The approach has been to spice up known methods from, among others, Lean with new innovative analytical techniques and customized data tools.
Based on previous investments in energy improvements, Silkeborg Municipality chose to establish a more structured and data-driven setup for energy management. 4BC has helped define strategy, tools, and organization – and has put action behind the ambitions.
From Energy Data to Concrete Action
Silkeborg Municipality wanted to elevate its energy work to the next level. With over 450,000 m² of building area and many years of investments in energy improvements and indoor climate, the next step was to establish a structured, strategic, and data-based energy management effort. We helped define the framework for the initiative and develop a practical approach to data-based energy management that both embraces previous investments and supports the municipality's green ambitions.

Web App for Practical Energy Management
As part of the digitalization, a web app was developed to help employees register, adjust, and follow up on operations directly in the field. The app has improved both overview, reaction time, and accountability in energy work.
Structured Prioritization and Increased Ownership in Operations
To ensure effective and data-driven collaboration within the energy team, Lean-inspired meeting formats were introduced. We conducted targeted training courses focusing on concrete improvement of energy performance.
