Best Practice ISO50001 Energy Management with AI – Danish Agriculture & Food Council
Customer: Danish Agriculture & Food Council
In brief
With the help of 4BC, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council has implemented ISO50001-certified energy management using data-driven tools, achieving special 'Best Practice' distinctions from an external auditor for its work with AI in data analysis and energy auditing.
The Danish Agriculture & Food Council has achieved ISO50001 certification with a data-driven approach that has impressed the certification body Bureau Veritas so much that they have awarded several 'Best Practice' distinctions. The distinctions were given for a solution that combines a high degree of automation, documented effect, and minimal administrative burden on the operational organization.
4BC was responsible for designing the energy management system, integrating supply data, making AI-based data analysis action-oriented, and simultaneously ensuring that the solution both reduces energy consumption and fits the company's work processes.
ISO50001 Energy Management for Property Operations Had to Be Data-Driven
The Danish Agriculture & Food Council not only wanted to achieve ISO50001 certification but to do so in a way that did not create more work for the operational organization. With a property portfolio of approx. 120,000 m² primarily in Aarhus and Copenhagen, the ambition was to create an energy management system that combines structured processes with innovative digital tools and AI-based analysis.
Results
Effective Energy Management System with AI
During the ISO50001 certification, Bureau Veritas awarded several 'Best Practice' distinctions for the data-driven tools and methods implemented in the energy management system. The distinctions recognize the innovative approach to working with AI, energy data, and systematic performance monitoring.
Supply Data Is the Foundation For Success
In collaboration with Ento, an AI analysis platform has been built that continuously analyzes supply data and verifies savings across the portfolio. The platform supports ISO50001 requirements and provides documentation for the annual recertification.
From Mandatory Compliance To Active Management Tool
The previous mandatory energy audit has been replaced by a fully implemented ISO50001 energy management system. The system uses data from utility companies and the national Datahub to continuously monitor and verify energy performance.
