In collaboration with the museum industry organization, Museums of Denmark (ODM), 4BC developed and conducted a training course that combines preventive conservation of cultural heritage with principles from ISO50001 energy management. By combining their own measured data with risk-based prioritization, participants have established concrete action plans that can reduce both CO2 footprint and operating costs, without compromising the conservation quality of the collections.

Traditionally, museums have struggled to balance stringent climate requirements with the desire to reduce their CO2 footprint. 4BC introduced a data-driven approach to the course, where participants' own measurement data from sensors and BMS systems form the basis for risk-based prioritizations.

The result is concrete, implementable action plans that optimize technical operations and significantly reduce energy costs. By actively working with climate management within the Green Bizot Protocol, museums achieve sustainable management, ensuring both the conservation quality of their collections and efficient operational economics.
